Engr. Abubakar Ahmed Nahuche served in the Nigerian Army from 1976-1983 where he headed the Army Fixed Communications systems. He joined Nigerian External Communications Ltd where he was in charge of International Relations Department responsible for traffic reconciliation.

Engr. Abubakar Ahmed Nahuche graduated from Ahmadu Bello University with B.Sc. Eng (Electrical Engineering) in 1976 and later went to Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York, USA where he obtained an MSc Communications Engineering in 1978. He served in the Nigerian Army from 1976-1983 where he headed the Army Fixed Communications systems.

He joined Nigerian External Communications Ltd where he was in charge of International Relations Department responsible for traffic reconcilation. He was in NITEL Planning and Development Division where he was involved in the design and implementation of Fibre Optics, Digital Radio Systems and Mobile systems nationwide. He was later to head Long Distance Communication Department of NITEL responsible for operation and maintenance of transmission network.

He joined intercellular PLC, a private mobile telecommunications company where he was incharge of its Northern operations. He later became NITEL CEO in June 2007 and left in March 2008.
