40578_G24_W01Erica Wiebe (born June 13, 1989)is an Olympic gold medal winning wrestler competing for Canada. erica_wiebe_webShe is originally from Stittsville, Ontario in Ottawa, Canada. She later moved to Calgary, Alberta so she could train with Canada’s national team.


Erica won an Olympic gold medal in the 75 kg freestyle event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

40391_G24_W01 To win the medal she defeated Kazakhstan’s Guzel Manyurova. This was the fourth gold medal Canada won in Rio. It was also the second medal ever for a Canadian woman wrestler.

She won a gold medal in the 75 kg freestyle at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.wrestling.jpg.size.custom.crop.1086x633 At the Golden Grand Prix Ivan Yarygin 2015 she won gold medal.
