Zimbabwean born actress and voice artist, Chiedza â€œChiâ€ Mhende moved to Cape Town in 2006 to study at AFDA â€“ the South African School of Motion Picture Medium and live Performance. She was introduced to Cape Townâ€™s theatre scene as Lady Capulet in a 2010 Artscape production of â€œRomeo and Julietâ€.
Other theatre credits include K. Sello Duikerâ€™s â€œThe Quiet Violence of Dreamsâ€, JM Coetzeeâ€™s â€œWaiting for the Barbariansâ€, Titania in â€œA Midsummer Nightâ€™s Dreamâ€ (performed at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival in July 2012), â€œTaming of the Shrewâ€, â€œThe Comedy of Errorsâ€, and â€œRichard IIIâ€.
Her theatre training extends to Drama Therapy having worked with organisations such as the Bonfire Improv Theatre Company and the Zakheni Arts Therapy Foundation.
She is the voice of â€œSiyayaâ€ and Al Jazeeraâ€™s global health series â€œLifelinesâ€.Â Film and Television credits include â€œEvil in Our Midstâ€, â€œThe Tunnelâ€, â€œStokvel 6â€, â€œMad Dogs 3â€, and â€œLove the One You Loveâ€ which made its debut at the 2014 Durban International Film Festival.
