Chromecast or the Roku Streaming Stick? Which is the best ?

chromecastvsrokustreamingstickTwo affordable price points. Two very different approaches. Google’s Chromecast  is a year old, and to celebrate this momentous occasion the Big G is offering new subscribers three months’ worth of access to Google Play Music All Access. A lot can happen in 12 months though. At launch, Chromecast was something of an oddity. Costing $30 in the US and £30 in the UK, Chromecast was absurdly cheap compared to competitor offerings like Apple TV and the Roku 3. Like the Nexus 7 before it, Google’s Chromecast changed everything even forcing Apple to slash the price of its popular Apple TV unit.

Another big name in the set-top-dongle-thingy-space is Roku, a US-based company that rose to fame off the back of the excellent Roku 3 media player. In 2014 the company returned with the Roku Streaming Stick, a smaller, dongle-like media streamer designed to do battle with Google’s hugely popular Chromecast.

Below, we look at the merits of both in order to help you find out which is the best solution for you.   SEE MORE ON PAGE2
