General Muhammadu Buhari Speaks I will address my certificate issue Today By 9am

aaaGeneral Muhammadu Buhari will address all controversies surrounding his academic certificates at a press conference today, January 21st by 9am in Kano state. The APC presidential candidate made this known through the Director of the APC’s Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign team has released a statement saying the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate will address the controversy surrounding his educational qualification by 9am on Wednesday.

After weeks of accusations and counter-accusations from followers of the leading parties in next month’s elections, the Nigrian Army, yesterday released a statement saying it is not in possession of the retired general’s certificates.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Olajide Laleye, said the entry made on the Nigerian Army Form 199A at the point of documentation after Mr. Buhari was commissioned as an officer, indicated that the former Head of State obtained the West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1961.

“With credits in relevant subjects: English Language, Geography, History, Health Science, Hausa and a pass in English Literature.

However, he said “Neither the original copy, certified true copy (CTC) nor statement of result of Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari‘s WASC result is in his personal file.”

This puts to question the former Head of State’s qualification to contest the presidential elections in February.

Garba Shehu, the spokesperson of Buhari’s campaign machinery has, however, announced that the APC candidate will address the controversy this morning in Kano where a rally was held on yesterday Tuesday.
