Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade, is a year older today March 13th, 2015. Yemi Alade was born in 1989 to a Yoruba father named James Alade, a former commisioner of police, and a mother of Igbo heritage, Mrs Helen Uzoma. She happens to be the fifth and last child in a family of 7. She is a graduate of Geography from the University of Lagos. Yemi shot to the limelight after winning the Peak Talent Show. She dropped her first official single titled “Fimisile” shortly after under Jus’ Kiddin’ record label. In 2012, Yemi Alade signed to Effyzzie Music group where she got the opportunity to work with music industry giants like OJB Jezreel on tracks like Ghen Ghen Love among others. Her big break came with the hit song, Johnny which impressed people across the country and even the continent. The video for Johnny which features Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo, currently boasts of well over 15 million views on YouTube. Miss Alade who bagged an endorsement deal with Close Up not too long ago is currently on her world tour promoting her Kings of Queens album released late last year which garnered a ton of rave reviews.
