Majid Michel on set of ‘Light will come’ Mercy Johnson, Majid Michel and Kannywood’s Rahma Sadau are part of the cast for the new movie, ‘Light Will Come,’ directed by Tchidi Chikere.
The event also marks Sadau’s debut into Nollywood. The actress, who described herself as an actress going beyond Kannywood, said: “I have always dreamt of becoming a great actress and acting in the Nollywood is one great experience.”
The news has been received with joy by her fans who have taken to social media platforms to express their excitement.
Al-Ameen Adam said on the twitter handle @kannywoodscene that: “Now, Rahma Sadau will be seen as a celebrity. Better than her Kannywood mates.”
Nadia Bashiru said: “I thought muslimahs can’t act in nollwd bcos of d way dey dress but am sure @Rahma_sadau knows wat she is doin, bst of luck.” [Sic] However, not all like Abdullahi Hussain @sddm08, were pleased. He said: “So sad to hear about her acting in nollywood.”
Hassana Dalhat, a Kannywood movie promoter and marketer, applauded the actress for taking a step further in her career.
“This effort by Sadau will not only make her great but improve her conceptualisation of films beyond Hausa,” Ms. Hassana said.
Sadau has joined other Kannywood acts like Yakubu Mohammed, Ali Nuhu and Sani who have starred in Nollywood productions.
