Hajia Aishat Muhammed Buhari, wife of the All Progressives Congress,APC Presidential candidate,General Muhammed Buhari has assured women in the country that his husband,if voted into office will give zero tolerance to domestic violence and child abuse in any form.
The Master degree holder in International Relations however sympathised with the women and children from the North- Eastern part of the country over the insecurity in the area.
She is optimistic that if her husband is given the opportunity to govern the country,he will address the problem of insecurity in the area and as well protect the interest of all women, irrespective of their creed, colour or religion.
Hajia Buhari stated this on Tuesday while addressing a mammoth crowd of women from all the six southwestern States of the country.
The event which was held at the MKO International Stadium,Kuto,Abeokuta was attended by women leaders and party supporters from the six States, comprising Ogun,Oyo,Ondo,Osun,Ekiti and Lagos States.
Various political, social and religious groups from the 20 local government areas of Ogun State were on ground to welcome the women.
Hajia Buhari, who is also being called,’ Gogo’ said,”I am here today and delighted to be here again for the second time. I was here about two months ago with my husband, but today,I’m here to honour the invitation of the wives of the southwest governors.
“You may be wondering why I dress in Ibo dress in Ogun State, the Oduduwa land. We are having our grand finale today and when they said we are coming to Ogun State today to honour the invitation of the southwest governors,I have no choice than to accept.
“Mrs Osinbajo, who was also in Benue attire this morning has to change it because she cannot cope with the dressing. All five yards to be wrapped,it’s very difficult. To copy our women from the Benue State is not all that easy.
“As I stand before you today,my heart goes to our sisters, mothers, daughters from the northeast States, especially, those from Borno,Yobe and Adamawa, who due to insecurity have no opportunity to gather this kind of crowd to educate them.
“I’m from north-east and I know how it feels to see your daughters being taken away for almost a year and your husband being slaughtered in your presence. That will never happen again in our country from May 29,2015 when my husband assumes office.
“Last week when my husband was in Lagos to meet with some groups of people,he promised to protect all our women and children. He said he has no money to throw about because Nigeria is not for sale,he believes in the government of accountability, prudence and integrity.
