302996-650-366Los Angeles, the second-largest market in U.S.A, has been itching for an NFL franchise since the Raiders and Rams left town after the 1994 season. Now, it looks like they may get two.

The Raiders and Chargers are reportedly moving forward with a plan to share a $1.7 billion stadium in Carson, Calif., less than 20 miles from downtown L.A.  While they are continuing to push for public subsidies for new stadiums to stay in their respective home markets, the two franchises separated by nearly 500 miles could meet in the middle in L.A. if no agreements are reached.

“We are pursuing this stadium option in Carson for one straightforward reason: If we cannot find a permanent solution in our home markets, we have no alternative but to preserve other options to guarantee the future economic viability of our franchises,”
