Kenyan President meets with a delegation of the US Senate and US Congress led by New York Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand at State House, Nairobi. He says:  We discussed the war against terror, regional security, trade and investment issues. The legislators are on a three-day visit to understand Kenya’s security situation, the evolving war against terror, Kenya’s pivotal role in ensuring regional security, as well as to discuss matters of mutual interest, focusing on the long-standing bilateral relations. I briefed the legislators on the war against terror, the role of the Kenya Defense Forces in Somalia within the context of the AU Mission (AMISOM) and strategies in dealing with radicalisation. This is a global war that requires a global approach. We are working very closely with our partners, including the United States, in tackling terrorism in the region and beyond. I also briefed the delegation on our efforts to deal with and stop terror financing. We also discussed the need for capacity building for Kenyan security agencies in the war against terror, an area where the United States is keen in supporting Kenya. 11062715_1045258188836067_2996458554018218462_n 11058793_1045258262169393_4895942668789098338_n 11026593_1045258355502717_5852693368251216949_n
