Photos: Novak Djokovic crushes Andy Murray in four sets to claim French Open title

Novak Djokovic showed why he’s Tennis’ number one man as he defeated British Number 1 Andy Murray in four straights to win the Fench Open title despite Andy Murray’s strong start.

Andy Murray won the first set 6-3, but the Serbian tennis guru Djokovic subdued  the 29 year-old Scot to win the final four rounds  3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 at Roland Garros.

With this win, Djokovic has won all the four major titles this year and in taking a twelfth Grand Slam the Serb became only the third man ever to hold all four of the Major titles at once.

Murray said “what he’s achieved is phenomenal …

It’s not happened for an extremely long time and it’s going to take an extremely long time for it to happen again… obviously it sucks to lose the match … I’m proud to have been part of today.”

Djokovic who spoke in French, later slipped into English for Murray’s benefit

‘Talking of “very special moments we’ve shared … I’m sure I’ll be seeing you with big trophies in the future … I know how much work you guys put in .. he’s one of the most dedicated guys on the tour.

My family, my team, thank you so much for tolerating everything on a daily basis. There’s plenty of things I can talk about til tomorrow … but thank you so much for being able to manage me.”
