Speaking on the red carpet at the HBO showâ€™s premiere Sunday night, producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed one of the perks of being president.
Describing the overwhelming success of the show, Weiss said: â€œI think for both of us â€” finding out the President wanted advance copies of the episodes â€” that was an â€˜Aha!â€™ moment.â€
The creators told interviewer Veronica Belmont that, yes, they sent Obama episodes early because â€œheâ€™s the leader of the free world.â€
Benioff added: â€œWhen the commander in chief says, â€˜I want to see advanced episodesâ€™ â€” what are ya gonna do?â€
The two also discussed the upcoming season being â€œthe first time we really moved beyond the end point of the booksâ€ by George R.R. Martin and the freedom that brought to the showâ€™s direction.
