imagesPresident Goodluck Jonathan Suspends Visit To Guinea Over Abuja Bomb Explosion, he suspended his trip to the Central African nation for the A.U. meeting and will immediately return home today, on Thursday. According to the latest data provided by the police, the number of casualties reached 21 and 17 more people sustained serious injures. Force spokesperson, Frank Mba, said that one suspect was arrested in connection with the incident and one was shot by soldiers while trying to escape  from the scene. Presidential spokesperson, Reuben Abati, confirmed the information about the suspension of the president’s trip in response to recent events in Abuja. The president departed Abuja 3.30 pm Wednesday, about 30 minutes before the explosion. The president and his entourage were arriving at their hotel in Malabo, the Equatorial Guinean capital, when they received news of the attack.Mr. Jonathan accompanied by his wife, Patience, and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Water Resources, Health and Industry Trade and Investment were going to participate in the 23rd Ordinary Session of the African Union’s Summit of Heads of State and Government.
