4. The Federal Government had on Thursday appointed Roli, wife of Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Chief Olabode George, as the Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. Roli takes over from Mr. Olufemi Ajayi, who was on Wednesday named the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund.

The Director-General of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, Dr. Joseph Odumodu, has disclosed that all multi-storey buildings in Onitsha and its environs that are below standard would be demolished. The SON Director General disclosed this on Thursday in Onitsha during the inspection of the sites of three multi-storey buildings that collapsed in different areas of the ancient city.
